The Daily Misnomer is the foremost news publication of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at ASU. The Misnomer was founded in 1959. In response to this groundbreaking endeavor in legal journalism, ASU decided to open the doors of its law school five years later in 1964. Since then, the two organizations have enjoyed a professional symbiotic relationship described by Harvard Law Review as “Truly the Gold Standard of progressive cooperation and transparency between a legal publication and a law school.”
The Misnomer has enjoyed a recent rise in readership. Until its online debut in late October of 2015, best estimates place its readership since its founding in 1959 somewhere between zero and Steven Segal’s active fanbase. Since the new online-based publication is open to any contributors who are students at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, its number of writers has also seen a sharp increase.
The Misnomer is owned and operated by the Executive Officers of Law School Follies at ASU.
